Movie Outline

I was lucky enough when Movie Outline was first introduced to be able to try out the software and give it a review. I liked what I found at that time and wrote up a positive review. Since the program was, in the beginning, strictly a tool for outlining a screenplay, and since I don't generally use software for outlining, I set the software aside and forgot about it.

I recently took a look at Movie Outline again, this time version three, and found a huge surprise. The software has evolved since my initial review. Movie Outline is still one of the best story outlining software products on the market, but now you can add story development and full-featured scriptwriting elements to the mix. Movie Outline now does it all.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the software was its beautiful interface. Across the top are ten tabs labled outline, script, notes, characters, feelfactor reference, library, powerview, step cards, and story tasks views. Each of these tabs corrosponds with a different view and presents the user with an array of tools with which to develop and write his story. Movie outline provides you with several popular movie outlines in a variety of genres with which to compare the progression of your own story to along the way. Movie Outline also allows you to easily switch between the various elements of your screenplay and the actual screenplay itself, making the process of structuring and writing, and rewriting a breeze. All you need to do, really, is think about the story.

Movie Outline is well-developed software, very easy to use, and extremely useful for all aspects of the writing process. I was using Sophocles, which seems to have disappeared, and find that Movie Outline would be a great product for those customers who once used Sophocles and are now seeking a replacement.
